About Jackson

Son of Hawaii and District 10

As a fourth-generation Japanese American born and raised in Honolulu, Jackson is proud to call this district and Hawaii his home.

Jackson attended Hokulani Elementary, Punahou, NYU Shanghai, and earned his Master’s in Public Administration at UH Manoa. During his time as a student, Jackson interned with the City and County’s Office of Economic Development and Senator Schatz's D.C office.

After returning to Hawaii from Shanghai, Jackson was drawn to service to address the growing issue of out migration. Faced with rising costs of living, lack of affordable housing, and limited job opportunities, we’ve seen many family, friends, and neighbors leave Hawaii. In 2020, Jackson joined his local neighborhood board and ran for office to serve in the State House of Representatives.

“Challenges we face today cannot be solved with the same old approach.”

Dedicated to Public Service

As a State House Representative, Jackson worked diligently to build community and fight for legislation to reduce financial burdens for families, improve public safety, and increase investment for schools. One of the first bills Jackson introduced was on catalytic converter thefts. Inspired by conversations with constituents, this bill successfully became law and reduced catalytic converter thefts drastically.

Since 2025, Jackson has served as Chairman of the House Labor Committee - working on expanding local workforce development programs, establishing paid family leave, and streamlining civil service recruitment.

Outside the capitol building, Jackson frequently attends neighborhood board meetings, removes graffiti, and works with community leaders to organize park clean ups.
